Publishing and greeting cards
The website is published. I’m not completely satisfied with it of course, but I am reasoning that I have to start somewhere and its never going to be perfect in the beginning.
We went into Kaleidoscope in Coffs Harbour this weekend. The store sells only locally made art, jewellery, honey, cards etc. I bought a resin made necklace which is quite steam punk by my reckoning. I love it. I didnt approach the shop yet as I had nothing to show them physically. But next time I’ll bring some greeting cards, and a business card.
Nice Segway - I ordered some sample greeting cards. They’re from the Native Flowers collection - but I’m very excited about finding this company. They’re called ‘Print Together’ and its a printing company in Melbourne. They only use recycled paper, and look great for sustainability. They’re also affordable so far, and even do booklets too, which is another project in the works.
The link to the company is here: https://www.printtogether.com.au/our-story
I’m still painting away - its gone back to Watercolours lately. I was doing some water practice and now I’m practicing painting flowers again. I’ve been trying to think alot lately about what I really want to paint, and what my style might be. When I look at my website, everything is very colourful and bright. A colleague once called my music taste ‘eclectic’. Maybe that’s what my art style is too? Conservatively eclectic haha.
I also bought a book called ‘The practice’ by Seth Godin. It was recommended on Art Juice (the podcast) , and I really resonated with what Seth was saying when we was a guest on the podcast. I’ll likely share more about the book when I get it.
In other news, we are planning a trip to New Zealand for August this year. I cant wait to paint my way through the country.
Peace.
